I think it's clear that there is one solution: Next season should run from April to December and each division consist of 16 teams... we could make it run from April to March if we take the Scottish Football Association's view that you split each division in half for a 3rd shorter set of matches to close the season. If the rest of the league doesn't like it, we could make a breakaway premier league... perhaps inviting two of the larger pool teams from Glasgow to join in! We may even get improved sponsorship so that everyone gets a team bus! Unfortunately we would have to raise the entry fee per team from £30 a season to £58,775 per season to deal with the administration and influx of team buses for the first season (they will be very good buses!) but I imagine this proposal would be met with a positive response from the league when you take in to account the possibility of trophies of at least double the quality being presented at the annual presentation night. We could lead the way into making a champions league of pool across Europe! Thoughts?

The singles is supposed to be the premier event. It's dumbed down and shifted away from the regular Pool night in order to plat non stop team pool. Two leagues in one year is madness. The trophies are 5hite. Duplicated twice a year. What's wrong with one 8 or 9 month league? For those mssing team pool in the summer can organise a mini league. Most areas do this and have a cash league!
The turnout for the Singles is evidence enuf it's run badly!

The trophy's are reasonable but exactly the same every year!!
If someone joins all that stuff thats up to them. A Thursday night league should be on Thursdays. Simple really.
A September to May league would be better. Allowing an unofficial, seperate, shorter Summer league,,,

Where exactly does it say that the CAPL is exclusive to Thursday nights anyway? Certainly the fixtures published pre-season do not give this impression.
As for trophies, I think the glass ones given out are some of the nicest trophies I've seen for what is essentially such a low profile and meaningless sporting level.

And there is too much! Devalues the achievement. You might as well start the next league on presentation night!

You have to keep the league on Thursdays as all the teams that have entered and have been entering do so on the basis that league matches are on Thursdays. Let's not forget that many pool players also play in the snooker league which takes place primarily on Fridays. Also, most pool players probably have better things to do with their Friday nights. Everything is fine as it is; the vast majority of people are tended for by putting league and cup primarily on Thursdays and the competitions which cater for a much smaller proportion of the league are played on Sundays. Everyone has a preference but not everyone can be satisfied. However, I think everyone (sane in mind at least) will agree that the way things are now are a good fit for what the majority want and also have been agreed at a General Meeting where everyone has the opportunity to contribute.
