Gaz. what is the latest on this? Do we still have 5 teams? Are P/Boro Def not in it? Are we allowed a league? Were you not in attendance at the committee meeting 5 Teams - Workies, Mickeys, CSC, Ely, St Neots No P'Boro, unless we change days We will get away with 5 teams in a league as a one-off (well this came from Ron, without official confirmation from EPA) he has yet to get this signed off. A meeting will take place before we start though......................there are issues that need resolving. Izzy is sorting this out ASAP

Well it's all sorted now..................
5 teams: Cambridge (as long as they pay their bond fee), Cambridge Bruvs, Cambridge Snooker Centre, St Neots, Ely - EPA allowed us a league of 5 as a one-off
Start mid May
Home and away fixtures again as it used to be, so we're back off to the workies hopefully.

I hear the format has changed to 10 fixtures?
If that is the case, I'm pretty sure there will be no "Cambridge" team entering... so you'll be down to 4!

Yep - back to 1 match per night, so we've moved back to CWMC.
As for the old mickeys team, they also need to pay their bond fee first

Either way they need to let Ron/Izzy know ASAP, because fixtures are being drawn up

If they withdraw then no teams go to Yarmouth as you need a minimum of 6 teams (and that would leave 4)
I don't know how anyone could justify setting the rules, taking people's entry money and then changing the rules. :s

No, surely the rules can't be changed again without a vote.

No, surely the rules can't be changed again without a vote. There was a revote - of which your captain was present

Actually Garry,
There wasn't a revote,
At several points Ron told yourself and Dale that things couldn't be changed as the format had already been decided by vote.
There was argument from Dale and yourself.
Then Ron attempted to get a vote several times, and I spoke up and said it was unfair on those who have paid to enter under the rules which had been set out (including format) and told him that I would be against any such change.
Then there was louder argument including ringing Stu MacPherson (representing St.Neot's for his opinion). It is notable that no attempt was made to ring a representative from Will Scott's/Ian Norris' team.
Then Ron finally yielded to the demands of primarily Dale and to a lesser extent Garry and a person who I do not know who was representing the Peterborough team who to my knowledge haven't entered the league and she doesn't play for.
No actual vote was held, as Ron was interrupted every time he attempted to perform one.
I understand that some people wanted the same format to be used but there was a long discussion about this at the inter-league meeting and a vote was made and the format finalised.
After this, the county took our entry money. This second meeting was set up for some unknown reason (no details of the content were arranged) and then it was railroaded by those who were outvoted last time and were now in the majority as this meeting had no power to change the format... or so any sensible individual would have thought.
It is disappointing that this has happened, I could not threaten to pull out the team as I'm sure there will still be players on my team who are happy to play under the new (old?) format; though I wouldn't be surprised if Mickeys do pull out.
I'd be surprised if Peterborough can enter anyway as the E.P.A. deadline for entry of teams has already passed and had done before this meeting.
To conclude, there was no revote and certainly no legal vote within the rules as one team who have entered wasn't contacted and presumably, a vote would have been allowed for a team who had not entered.

Of course, Ron shouldn't have been entertaining the idea of a vote as there is one time in the year to vote on changes to formats, rules etc and this was not it. It wasn't even a meeting where every team was represented.
I quote from the minutes:
"After a long discussion a decision was made that the fixtures would revert back to Home and Away at each venue with 2 tables to be used if possible. If a venue has only one table then the away team can request that the match be played at a neutral venue which has 2 tables."
The decision was made by Ron, not be vote. I'm quite surprised that I was the only one of the "captains" who thought inviting players to pay entry money and then changing the rules when you've got their money in your back pocket is a bit morally grey (so to speak).

Well ok he didnt do a vote as such, but he didnt need to, as all of us except yourself were voting to change it back.................Mickey's vote wouldn't have mattered anyway because 3 teams wanted it to change back. I think Izzy said that she expected Mickey's to send a rep for their team (Will had said he'd make sure sum1 was there??). Wheras St Neots had stated they were available by phone if needed.
Unfortunately it's not always the best managed
