Rubbishing my view - that's a bit dismissive :[ I'm hurt. I still think it's a valid point. The point of a league is to judge a team over a long distance and not on a single days performance. You can say that I'm talking rubbish, but you would be wrong. Re-name the competition to 'Inter-battle-off', and you could be right. I'm not sure why people are so desperate to flog this competition when it isn't working. Inter-league is crap anyway.

Paul,
How long have you known that Ely has folded? News to me...... the team is still comitted to inter league in the same way as day 1, 8 seasons ago! How many other teams can show that comitment... Where did you get that we would reform if the league was on 1 day.......... 1 day inter league is bullshit wtf are you on about, koc yes 1 day is right but the league is over a season home and away matches. The meeting for any changes was at the county agm which was in dec. leagues were notified about the meeting. Teams thhat pulled out will be required to a DOUBLE BOND entry ie £100 if they complete a season then £50 will be refunded baxk to them.
Dale
Ps anybody thought of the idea of making 3 decent teams from cambridge out of 4 less comitted teams or does that need common sense..............
Thank you

Thank you Dale, I said - "I did wonder if Ely..." - due to the whohar from CSC X players talking about not playing 1 frame pool anymore. !!ok, so I said reformed, I should have said continued. And I was only speculating after all concerning Rich and Robs commits about not playing 1 frame (not 1 day) pool anymore. Obviously I take the comment back, as those 2 (and possibly lawrence) do not make the team complete. But I did wonder, and was sharing my thoughts here. I mentioned 1 day interleague, because it was a format that bedfordshire had to take to ensure they received a complete turn out. (they had the same problem a few (many) years back.). So, It is only one possible suggestion to a problem. Surely you encourage people to come forward and make suggestions? I was unaware that the County AGM held the superleague meeting as well, I would have put my suggestion into that meeting rather than here. P.

Most people got fed up cos of the teams pulling out with farcical discipline. What the F*ck is a £50 fine betrween 11 players? ? No wonder people get fed up. There are many players who work their time around these games only for the game to be cancelled on the day. 3 KSR players lost a days pay that day it happened to them. It's just not good enough. The only proper punishment is a ban!!!!!!!!!!

Can I please have a list of players still interested in playing for Cambs Elite (to be re-named): Anyone wishing to join please send me a pm.
One thing is for sure. Some players on this list are included as long as the strength of the squad is not reduced. That includes me and 4 others I know of....
Y - yes, N - No, ? - unsure
Matt Bradford (Y) Ian Norris (Y) Simon Rivers (Y) Jof Middleton (Y) Barry Lindsay (Y) Jim Munnelly (Y) Simon Stepney (Y) Michael O'Boyle (Y) Will Scott (Y) Adam Armstrong (Y)
Rob Cork (?) Mick Conlon (no response)
Possible inclusions interested (up to Captain or team). Peter McGannon Sav Kides Paul Reed
Craig Benstock (N) Paul Stel (N)
Possible 15 names. I doubt if any more than 13 will be picked and not necesarily from this list.
Having name on this list does not mean inclusion to the team. The Captain spot has yet to be decided but it is definately not me.

well there goes the MoM team then! It was never in the offing as far as my research has gone. the majority wanted to keep things as they are for about 5 different reasons. ie Jims efforts last year was a major part, not playing too much at one venue and losing certain players due to change of location Jim and our captain being the obvious 2. The main consensus was, same team or better or we don't bother. Including myself. Not sure if we have lost The Stel yet (for sure) but the back up seems quite strong

Matt Bradford has been confirmed as captain. Due to his new familt commitments he may not make too many games, so a vice captain is required.
Any volunteers/suggestions?
