At least we have 9 players paid up. Not exactly the team that was planned though was it. It's a real shame. Our team for March is now weakened too. Can't include Paul now, can I?

At least we have 9 players paid up. ...and don't forget their ALL Elite! ;D With Rivers, Lindsay and now Stel not there, our chances have been decimated. Very unnecessary.

No it isn't, but we can't dwell on what we can not change.
Theres still plenty of ability, determination and character in the list of names that are paid up, and I know we can count on everyone on it to give it 100% at Yarmouth.

I appreciate the 5 brought in. Eventually a few of them wanted to be part of the team in Yarmouth but each one of those players knew they were fill in's. As it has turned out that has caused one of my top 4 players to quit. I can't do right for doing wrong. Its like the medicine that causes drowsiness. I said to Simon that I have quit Pool but would honour what I started with "Elite." I just don't understand???

Whatever the reasons, it's all neither here nor there. We have the players we have, and that's it. Mick, Will & Rob are our top 3 ranked players, not Simon, Paul & Andy.
I'd prefer not to analyse the reasons, and sit here thinking about the team we could of had. I'm not blaming you, myself, or anyone else. It's pointless.
We have to go and win the whole thing now, and I'm very up for it.
Can the Captain please adjust his mood, it's not helping.

Lets not get carried away here! I have my reasons for not playing and dont really want it out to a public debate Good luck to Elite plenty of good players still in the side I hope you do well in my absence. It's not really a public debate mate. You have your reasons and we must respect that. The reason you gave did seem a little strange but we will leave that there. I won't pry. All it is, that the team was set up with hand picked players to form what is perceived as 9 of the best players in Cambs. It's a shame that the 3 of our best players won't be there. Not only to win the event for ourselves but as representatives of Cambridge's "Elite." Had I known what I know now I wouldn't have bothered. What is done is done and we will try our best nonetheless. The players coming in will gain a lot of experience which is a good thing. However, still a real shame we won't be displaying our best.

Whatever the reasons, it's all neither here nor there. We have the players we have, and that's it. Mick, Will & Rob are our top 3 ranked players, not Simon, Paul & Andy. The rankings mean nothing. Rankings do not win crunch frames at Yarmouth. The standard of player does. I could name half of my top 8 players who did not want to do the league thing and I always knew we were doing "just enuf" to get to Yarmouth. If that showed the wrong signs, so be it. Some people have read that wrong. 5 players were brought in to cover us to get thru the league. How did I know that we would get 13-15 players every game? Paul and I have dropped ourselves many times to allow players to play who kindly filled in if we needed. Does that make us worse players than those above us? One or two players then displayed they wanted to squeeze into the starting line up and I know will be upset if not selected .... the rest as they say..... is history

I'd like to think that you were stupid, but that's not the case... so what exactly are you trying to achieve with your last 2 days of posts on this thread? frankly... the more i read the less I want to play. Or is that the idea?

I don't understnd? Why does that make you a mug? I have only wrote what is true. Would you prefer if I told you Bullsh*t. Is it not true that Paul or Simon would be a better bet to win a frame than most players in Cambs? I am not insulting anyone. In fact yesterday Matt said it himself that he and others are disappointed our original team are not there. The team are confused and so am I. Matt, Jim and Adam said they were looking forward to the original players playing in Yarmouth. ie: Simon Mick Andy Paul Jof Michael Ian Will Rob/Barry I think you would agree that this team had a good chance of doing well? Now, 3 of those players are not going to be there! The whole concept is now no more. Still a decent side but not as strong. The reserves (who all knew originally they had a slim chance of playing in Yarmouth) will now be competing for some places. That includes you Craig. If I am honest, I don't know who will play. The only players I am sure will start are: Ian Mick Will Rob Jof Not sure of the state the others will be in? Besides, the only person from the 5 reserves who has shown annoyance at not being picked in the past is you Craig. Is that good or bad? If you could back it up with form, then it is good. You would be the first to admit, you haven't exactly been on fire?! Then again not many have! Your comment that "is it my intention to stop you playing or going is not warranted in the concept of this latest saga. All in all, we wil have a good weekend. I am going to be Amateur singles Champion too.

That simply isn't true... as for the rest, just forget it. Debating this on the forum is just winding me up.

i dont care what anyone one says in yarmouth its completly different. You need experience and talent all you can do ian is go and choose the best team do that and you will do no wrong. We go as a team wwe play as a team and we have a good time. Now support each other and we can do well Ely made it to the last 8 whats stopping us its 1 frame pool.
