Please note that this is only the qualifying stage at the moment. The teams need to win their qualifying match to reach the finals at Gt Yarmouth. The men and women need to win this match, and possible another qualifier to reach Yarmouth.

Mickeys lost their qualifier 8-6 against a very good P'Boro side.
But there was better news as Helen Barrett beat Hazel Miller from P'Boro 5-3 in her 2nd qualifying round to make it to the national finals in Yarmouth!!

Both Sean O'Boyle and Helen Schwarz missed out by the smallest margains - losing 5-4.
However Sue Osborn got a little bit of luck, getting a BYE in the 2nd qualyfying round, and is through to Yarmouth.

Well the national finals were over the weekend. Unfortunately Kim and Sue went out narrowly in the 1st round. Helen made it into round 2, where she also narrowly lost 5-3.
As for the teams, both the Old Boys and the Blackbull went out in the group stages.......But CSC got through their group on the final frame of their 2nd match! They then went onto play a very attacking team in Talbot. This went all the way to 7-7, and in a tense 3man playoff they came through 2-1 to go into the last 16.
In the last 16 they played a good brighton side, but CSC were on fire, and finished the tie off quickly, winning 8-2.
That put them through to the Q-Finals, where they lost to the eventual winners Jordans A. From 2-0 up and looking good the tie swung round, and Jordan's got the upper hand. Unfortunately they couldn't quite take it to the last frame, and lost 8-5. However the whole team played some great pool, and the match was v v tight in which they lost. I think sooner or later they'll go all the way, as they are only missing out by the smallest of margains!!

On an even better note Kim O'Brien won the National Ladies Championship!!!! This is a massive event to win, so a huge well done goes out to Kim!!!
Over 200 women entered the event at Yarmouth, and Kim went all the way to win the event. Cracking effort Kim!!!
