I am missing two results from the plate. Please let me know if you know these results.
There were 38 entries for the Open in advance, with 29 of those turning up for the competition. In addition, a further 7 turned up on the day giving a field of 36. Prelim, 1st and 2nd round losers were allowed to enter the plate, with 19 players entering. Somehow one entry fee went missing so we had 37 entries at £3 and 7 entries at £5 giving a total prize fund of £146. The plate had a fund of £38. Tony Carr at CSC kindly contributed a further £50 towards the prize fund. We added £34 to the main competition and £16 to the plate to give prize breakdowns as follows;
Winner £90
Runner Up £50
Semi Finalists £20
Plate
Winner £25
Runner Up £15
Semi Finalists £7
In hindsight, I personally think we should have given £10 to losing quarter finalists in the main competition and reduced the winner and runner up prize money. I would be interested to hear other points of view?
