Well what can i say??.....an awful lot as it goes!!!
So after a quality team practice we were pretty much foaming at the mouths waiting for the Mickeys Lads to arrive. When they did we found out that they were mildly depleted, which spurred us on and we all sensed that this may be our night before the game even startesd...
So, The Iceman breaks and leaves himself with hardly a sniff, tries to block a bag and the ball drops leaving him in a bad situation. Will then took full advantage of the position and took the first frame 0-1 (and the first dropped first frame of the season).
Speedy was next though and i was quietly confident of a win from the Sheriff and although he didnt play a shot wrong, Sam took full advantage of his position....0-2 WTF???
RIGHT, TIME TO RALLY...I could tell by the look of Ian that he knew he was the man to pull us back into it and as usual this season, he didnt disappoint and pulled out another great finish....back on track 1-2
The Whirlwind George Brown next and once again he made a cracking finish after Carl gifted him with 2 shots...only one was needed....Unorthodox yet Dominant..well done GB 2-2.
So back on level terms it was the turn of the Big Drinker who had returned from a cracking weekend in which he only lost i believe 1 out of 9 frames, continuing the form he has shown and putting us deservedly ahead 3-2....First BOOM of the night...feeling it now!!!
Kidder was also focused after a decent showing in Yarmouth and swaggered around the table with confidence and dominating up until missing a tough yellow instead of taking on a safe plant which im sure would have sealed the game, nevermind though and Dale was on hand to finish off an easy clearance (as he has knocked the black perfectly over the bag and NEARLY IN IT early on )Well done though and going into half time at 3-3 i thought was a fair score.
TIME FOR THE BOOM...
A quick look at our lads told me that everyone was still hungry to win this match and not many words were needed before we kicked off.
Mick absolutely dominant against Andy to claim the first...4-3.BOOM
Speedy made it through a tough frame to keep himself right up there with us and showing that experience is priceless...5-3.BOOOM
Ian up next to win the frame and secure us the draw as a minimum and with another fantastic performance including a superb last 3 balls. Great to see him flying again BOOOOOM.......6-3 and still 3 games to go!!!
So who had the first opportunity to win it for us?!?!......ME , and boy o bboy did i relish it, potting a couple then tucking up Dale in a tough safety leaving him nothing, and then finishing in style, winning the match for us for the second week running.....BOOOOOOOOOM...7-3!
So the game is won and all i could ask of the last 2 lads was to enjoy it and try and get us some points and they never let their feet off of the pedal once, Will not taking advantage of a good position leaving SOB to grind out a precious win (and his 6th frame on the bounce!!!) and then Kidder to finish another dominant game and leaving the score at..........9 f**cking 3..
I knew we could do it and i must say that Mickeys are still by far and wide my favourite team to play and i just hope that their season gets going sooner rather than later as i respect every one of them and im sure that come the end of the season they will be right up there with us.... CHINS UP
Maybe this Captaincy thing does work in my favour!?!.... BUZZING!!! WELL DONE BOYS
BRING ON CSC next week!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

Not sure what happened to the Old Boys last night, a very out of character performance allowing us a 10-2 win (Ten-eded) I've never seen a ball hit as hard as Steve McCann did - missed the pot tho and dunno how it stayed on the table, certainly entertaining stuff.

Blackbull 5 Hopbine 7
Didn't start off too bad, winning 2 of the first 3 frames to take a 2-1 lead. However we weren't playing very well, and it showed as we gave them a few gifts, and suddenly they were 3-2 up. Deano made sure it was all level at halftime, but even at that point I didn't see how we were going to get anything out of the match.
Marcus started us off well, potting a great black, but a bit of a lucky black brought the scores back level at 4-4. we shared the next 2, before they took the last 2.
We didn't play great at all, but fair play to them, as the Hopbine took the chances.
