Yo
The Handicapped Open is taking place on Sunday 17th February at CSC. Competitors will be split into two groups. One group will start at 10.15 and the other at Midday. So far we have 40 entries for this competition. The format will be the same as the previous couple of seasons with handicaps ranging from 0 to +4. Race length will vary depending on handicaps. This competition is £3 to enter if you leave the money at CSC by 9pm on Tuesday. Any entries received after that are £5. Saying before Tuesday that you want to enter but not leaving the money does not count. These entries will be charged £5. You can also enter on the day for £5 but you have to arrive at 10am and may be drawn into the Midday section. Start times will hopefully be posted on this forum on Wednesday.

Yo
According to my spreadsheet you had two players enter the Singles. They were Matt Ford and Joey Wong. You entered the Open and Tim entered the Handicapped. £10 in total. If you still think it is wrong then i will dig out the actual forms tonight. Let me know?

Why were there some Premier players given a +4 handicap and some players in Div 7 who are only playing their first whole season +3?? This is partly why I and many others don't bother entering the competitions any more??

+4 for prem players that seems a little strange but every player is judged on there ability and stats over previous seasons if the div 7 players are having a blinding season its going to effect the handicap

prem players off +4 - transferred into the prem half way through, but yes were generous at +4. however, they did not sail through the competition so maybe they were right?
div 7 player off +3 - former established prem player and former mens singles finalist
while the handicaps are far from fool proof and there will be mistakes we take as much information as possible into consideration. i repeat we know we cant get everything right let alone ensure everyone is happy
constructive criticism (of which i have had masses in the last week) is always welcomed and implemented as far as is possible
you missed a good day

I wasn't referring to me at all, no complaints there... My gripes were Dean Hancock that plays for HBL was on +3 so I believe. Ian Freestone also HBL was +4 against Helen Schwartz (and former Ladies Singles champ) also +4 I know everyone is doing their best and the committees work is much appreciated by the players in the leagues, Dig me, I don't care for being former Prem player, former Interleague player, former Mens Singles final but I am blind now and totally c r a p.... so any handicap I can get is much needed for my pathetic over 40's game of late, thanks for your love Mr Chairman xxx

What league you play in shouldn't come into it. I know another former singles finalist who was in the bottom division ;-) I played someone on +4 in the quarter with me on 0. He broke and cleared And left me screwed with a clearance and the Black over the hole twice. Little i could do about that. But on that handicap he shouldn't be capable of that really. I missed one clearance and he cleared up! it's sods law Mr OBoyle spanked him in the semi. I feel robbed but it's a good craic and nice to meet and play different people for a change. This comp shouldn't be taken too seriously. Steve did a great job and a few people are just bloody ungrateful.

A special mention should go to Darren taylor who was on a ridiculous +3 and brought it to Steves attention. You could argue a +1 for Darren. Nice one!

Wasn't aiming my comments at one person. I heard lots of whining at McDonald. Shame McCann has no sense. Typical academic! :-)
Did you fix your puncture Nash ?

Dean Hancock should have been off plus 4. Apologies, that was an error on our part.
