Blackbull 7 Old Boys 5 Didn't start off the best, losing the first frame, but then we went on a roll, winning the next 5 in a row to lead 5-1 at half time. Bit of a mixture of good play, and a few gifts too. They won 2 out of the next 3 frames to make it 6-3, but after a 45min frame we got the win at 7-3. They won the last 2 to bring the score a little closer. Good tight match throughout, with lots of banter reserved for Darren

For me, the only impressive frame in the first 6 was Stu's B+D. We absolutely gift wrapped you at least 3 of those first 6... Ah well, it wont be christmas time when we next play you Well done on the win though, you certainly deserved it more than we did on the night..

Bit of a mixture of good play, and a few gifts too. They won 2 out of the next 3 frames to make it 6-3, but after a 45min frame we got the win at 7-3. They won the last 2 to bring the score a little closer. Good tight match throughout, with lots of banter reserved for Darren I heard that Black Bull were really lucky and had I been there we'd have won 10-2. In all seriousness, from the text commentary I received... The Old Boys spurned a few great chances early on after Luke Bennett had masterfully won the first frame without giving his opponent a chance (I think the player in question may have retired from pool as a result, who knows?) Then up stepped Darren Edmonds to steady the ship at 2-1 down, however Darren was not allowed a shot. I can only guess that the opposition got really lucky and dished him as Darren Edmonds is Superman! A lot of time based and we were 5-1 down at which point I was feeling pretty sad and thought I should have spent this evening more productively than just watching my phone waiting for texts to come in. The Old Boys fought back a bit before I received a text saying "Load of pants", I can only assume the opposition got really lucky... again! At 6-3 down, Ben Turner completely dominated his frame and won in every sense except for on the score sheet... if anyone has CCTV footage to see where this irregularity arose; I was promised photographic evidence of this dominant performance but the mobile phone signal/3G at the Bull was lacking. At this point, it dawned on me that maybe the Old Boys were being outplayed as no team has ever gone 7-3 down without being the 2nd best team; however the final score ended 7-5 therefore I guess the opposition must have left... probably having stolen the scorecard at 6-3 --- In case of any misunderstandings this is all a joke as I wasn't there; I wish I was as I quite like the crispy duck there and I always have fun playing the Bull. Truth be told, without Darren Edmonds on the opposition team I am no longer guaranteed at least 1/2 for my trip there so maybe I was running scared. Merry Christmas all!!!
