Another glorious CAPL Open took place today; the glory was slightly overshadowed with a low attendance of 32 however Cambridge's top players were out in force in what was a very competitive tournament. Jordan Lemmon won his first Open tournament today with a 7-5 victory over Ian Norris in the final! Very well played to Jordan who took out many first visit finishes over the day and showed the kind of composure that could see him win many more tournaments in Cambridge in the future. Ben Clements and Jamie Clements both reached the semis. Michael O'Boyle defeated Ron Lemmon in the final of the plate competition. Thank you to Csc for hosting the event and in particular to Tony Carr. Tony adds an amount to the prize fund of each Open and even with a relatively low attendance was willing to add £50 to the pot! Hopefully we can make the next tournament at Csc the best attended it can be to repay Csc ongoing support to Cambridge pool.

Yes. Big shout out to Tony especially. I had a crazy draw to final (still with shoulder injury) and chuffed to find out I've still got it. Run out of steam (or steamed) towards the end but taking nothing away from Master Lemmon. Well played and congratulations. You are now a target son ;-)

So you congratulate him by saying you were injured and drunk?
Classy.

I haven't played for ages and I said I was chuffed to see I still have it. Hence I played well. I wasn't blaming being drunk I ran out of steam a bit. He played very well and beat me fair n square!
Trust you to dig out the negatives! How about well done for getting to a Final?

Joking aside, fantastic effort from Jordan and well done to Ian for beating the bigger names on the way to the final

It was 6-2 wasn't it? Probably a typo on the spreadsheet I sent to Monkey (the keys are right next to each other) If you can confirm that Ian, then I'm sure Monkey will be able to update it for you.
