Scotch Trebles Draw - 26th June 2011

Please see below for the draw for the Scotch Trebles:

Games are to take place on Sunday June 26th with the winner to text me directly (see www.cambridgeareapoolleague.co.uk website in contact section). Stewards are in bold and are to be the main point of contact with me in the event of any issues. Matches will be best of 3 until 4 teams remain, in which case the venue semi and final will be best of 5.

Note for Stewards: Please be responsible for the draw on the night and for noting down all scores for matches played. If you are not going to be able to make it to the venue please let me know asap. Remember that a timer should be used for all games, it is the responsibility of all entrants at the venue to assist with that when not playing. Any queries regarding matches where a stopwatch hasn't been used will be ignored. If any entrants are not there for the alloted start time, and haven't called ahead first, please do the draw without them. Discretion advised, of course.

The competition will start at 8pm with participants aiming to arrive between 7.30pm and 7.45pm to allow the steward to perform the draw at 8pm for a prompt start.

As a reminder, competitions are only open to CAPL registered players who have played at least one frame in the present season prior to the competition date... make sure you've all played at least one league or cup frame prior to the competition date this season.

Hi all, please note the change in venue from King St Run to Cambridge Snooker Centre in the first post. This is due to the King St Run being closed on that evening as the midsummer fair is on.

CSC has always traditionally been the back up venue. They have been good enough to accommodate competitions at very short notice. Often players get to a venue on a Sunday night to find it closed or busy and the Snooker Club always take us in. I do not believe this is a decision based on the fact that Steve plays there. It is what we always do when a venue is unable to host a competition it has been allocated.

According to the first post on this subject, the matches are this Sunday. I thought that this Sunday was Doubles?

Thanks Jon, that's been updated.

Garry, I just changed for the reason Monkey gave... I updated it from work and didn't pay attention to who was at the venue so only just realised I'm there. All venues that wish to hold competitions have got at least 2 (including the Run as they had previously been given 3) therefore I have no problems using CSC as a back up as it was not being used already.

Had a pub only had one competition then I would have had them in mind as the natural choice.

Don't forget that this comp is on June 26th and that if a team member can't make it, only one of the team can be replaced and must be replaced by an eligible player from that venue who has not been named in another trebles team.

The Cricketers is closed this weekend therefore that venue has been moved to Mickey Flynn's.

Steve putting it on here and NOT INFORMING the teams by text is not ON come on mate you have our mobile number this is taking the P i don't always check on here but to find it out at the last thing is out of order get your act together . You should be letting the teams know in advance by text

I have pm'd you the number I sent the text to and you can let me know if this is up-to-date, which it probably isn't given you haven't received the text. :S
