Dear All, Men's Singles is scheduled to start at 8pm on January 22nd as it is a Sunday. All participants should aim to arrive between 7.30pm and 7.45pm on the night to allow the steward to get the draw made swiftly on 8pm and the comp started. Games are to take place on Sunday January 22nd with the winner to text me directly on my number per the www.cambridgeareapoolleague.co.uk website. Stewards are in bold and are to be the main point of contact with me in the event of any issues. Matches are best of 5 until the venue final is reached, that venue final (the overall competition semi final) will be best of 7.Note for Stewards: Please be responsible for the draw on the night and for noting down all scores for matches played. If you are not going to be able to make it to the venue please let me know asap. Remember that a timer should be used for all games, it is the responsibility of all entrants at the venue to assist with that when not playing. Any queries regarding matches where a stopwatch hasn't been used will be ignored. If any entrants are not there for the allotted start time, and haven't called ahead first, please do the draw without them. Discretion advised, of course. Good Luck all. Posting this here although it's relevant to many CAPL competitions and times.
Putting a 'between' time to arrive is basically pointless. It is far clearer to say 'Arrive by' and be done with it.

I agree that in many cases it doesn't stop some people rolling through the door at 7.55-8pm, however I've been at a few venues in the last couple of seasons where everyone has made the effort and got there by 7.45pm allowing us to start early or at the very least on time. When we just told players to arrive at 8pm you could nearly guarantee that no one would arrive before 7.55pm. This way, if someone does arrive after 8pm and gets left out, they know that they were advised to get there at least 15 minutes earlier and they didn't. It makes the instances when a player arrives shortly after the draw is done a lot simpler.

You'd think as an employee of a sponsor you'd be a bit more sensible with your comments. If a member of the committee continued to slag off CSC in jest or otherwise continually on here I'm pretty sure Tony wouldn't be very pleased about it.
