Also well done Sarah. A very well run competition. Despite Mr Greenley's marathon frames. I did try and suggest to sarah that it would be better if my match wasn't last. ;D Could have been alot longer if I hadn't made such a pigs ear off that last shot too You still want me at your events Ian, lol

rob went 4-2 up then was pegged back and was only a difficult double away from winning the decider but the poolking held his nerve to take it, finished just after 11ish.

Happy with my day. Beat Simon Stepney (3-0), Dom (3-1), Loopy (3-1). Disappointed that i didn't put on a better performance against Si in the Semi, but he did play very well, only missing 1 ball.

Well done Gaz. No suprise for me. u were top 15 in prem rankings last season. You are joint top in Div 1 (8/10) this season.
Now u just need a new cue, so u don't have to work so hard for your wins!!

Great event! Big well done to Rob who (in my opinion) had already established himself as one of the top players in Cambridge. You came through a very strong field indeed and with a bit more experience you could have beaten me - I think I was fortunate to win!
Anyway well done to lots of players, julian & gaz both proved they are more than capable again! I look forward to the next one.

Yeah it was nice to actually get a bit further this time, having gone out around the quarter-final stages before! I did have a gilt-edged opportunity in the final frame against Simon, with two visits and all my balls in the open, but lack of big match experience really let me down - I got all excited and rushed it too much It would have been nice to win, but if you'd told me at the start of the day I was going to beat a whole list of quality Premier League players to get to the final, and lose 5-4 to Simon, I would have called you a liar... I'm definitely in this game to stay, I'm keen to go on the IPA tour in the next year or two if I eventually get a proper job! At the moment I just can't afford it on my paltry PhD grant... Oh, and I beat Chris Boud (div 2?), Adam Armstrong (prem), Martin Early (prem), Richard Wharton (prem), Steve McCann (prem), and 'orrible himself (prem). As Borat would say, 'nice'!

Do the Hertford Tour first..... That goes for anyone else who wants to move on up. Don't run before you can walk!
