ha ha ha. You don't have enuf fingers in enuf pies Julian mate.... Ed is right. I think basically King Cavey is right and Julian - Keep stabbing. That is what I have been doing and lots of good has happened. Problem is I have upset one or two along the way. my character unfortunatley. I stab and stab. This forum was my influence for that very reason. No matter how good or bad a concept, someone may take something from it and run with it. Stab away mate. PS. All those who read my posts, you must add salt. pref a pinch. Isn't that right Sir Rivers? However don't disregard totally... Where did I leave that shandy, woohoo! mmm Beer Come on the Cambs!!!

I agree with Ed, I think 2 days would be too much commitment for a lot of people, and would probably lead to a big drop in numbers. The great thing about the Open is the scale of the event, and the fact that the low entry cost makes it attractive to many players from lower divisions. Also, I assume Phil is waiving table costs for the Open, unless the committee is paying for it all? Asking him to do that for a whole weekend might be going a bit too far, even with all the money he'd take at the bar It can definitely be a real killer having to wait around for hours to play, but I think that's part of what makes it such a great event. I think it really tests a players mental strength and natural ability, when you have to be able to sit/stand around for such a long time, and then suddenly be able to produce the goods over a few short frames when your name is called! It's also a real test of willpower, seeing whether you can spend all day on licensed premises and still be sufficiently sober (or not) at the end of the day to pick up a cue and play ;D

Spoke to Sarah last night. She has taken your comments on board and will have a 1045 registration for a 1100 start and a 1245 for a 1pm start. All done!!
Although 1030 and 1230 sounds better to me Sarah... Can I play at 1030? It would be amusing to see Jof hang around for 7hrs and not play any part in the comp... lol

Please put ties on here tonight as Andy is away til end of weekend, no offence but by the time we see it on website we may only have a few days to know which start times etc, especially if I am top half of the draw and I have to pick some of my team up who could be in the bottom half, there could be problems. As much notice as possible means I can sort out transport - thanks in advance

Good shout. I completely agree with Simon. I suggest that the committee gives this some serious thought. The only thing is, will 100+ show up on the day.... If they do, you have a problem. If they don't, you have a problem of games that won't get played hence free tables with no play in progress. Hw do you balnce it Si? The plate comp slows things down too. Is the Plate a one frame K/O? If not it should be... Doesn't really matter when you don't drop a frame in it
