Howdy evry1 im bored, and i know that all ideas needed to be put fourth to the commitee about a century ago but...how about a cup which represents every individual division. Format: Every divison appoints a captain (a divisional captain) - this captain then chooses a team of 7 players (and a squad of 10) to represent that divison. Restrictions apply where a maximum of 2 players can only be picked from a given team in the league. To help the divisional captain pick the team, trials can be held or something along them lines. Hotshots would probably come into play aswel for the lower leagues. As for the prem, the team would probably already be picked, but it would be primarily upto the captain to who they choose. Not only would this cup unite teams within the league, but it would also give opportunity to the 'hidden' talent to all play together which lies within the lower league teams. what are peoples views on it?...or any improvements which people can add? Cheers Pud

Na ive had it with captaincy for a while. But theres so much talent in the first division this season, it would be hard to pick a definite 10. what do you think to the idea?

i think pool is a big waist of time and im sick of it.
but cant wait for the summer league to start!!!
i dont really know enough of the players in any of the leagues to pick a good team, but would play if this idea got taken up. cant see it though!

Can't see it happening
Some divisions would have a hard time picking 10 players - For instance in division one from last season there are probably 20 odd players who would fancy their chances of getting in!

yeah itd be tough, but the team would be picked on who the captain thought to be strongest. It would definitely give lower divisions the opportunity to get a strong team together.

if the top hotshot player from each team automatically made the squad. it was give a squad of 10 players per team in every division.

i think probably best to do squad sizes where there is only 1 reserve player (and the option to bring in players if others drop out).
Too many reserves could lead to a player not getting a frame.
assuming this idea gets off the ground.

Nice idea, but as you said, too hard to pick a team...

The Captain would sort the team, through trials or hotshots or achievements

nice idea would any other team than the prem win it though? No. I guess it is a slight evener only having two from each team but there's still no chance off them being beat. Off the top of my head: MoonA: Simon, Joff Run A: Stel, Will CWMC: Kev, Jamie Moon B: Steve, Dan Kidd Black Bull: Carl McDonald, Sav Kiddes To name 10 players from half the teams in the league, no one outside the prem could match that!

Yeah its a nice idea in principle pud, but you'd pretty much end up with it finishing in divisional order. Over the last couple of years the top divisions have got so much stronger throughout....i remember when i first got involved in pool and the workies were back in div4, there wasn't half as much talent around as there is at present.

I reckon it would be best if u had a 'dream team' from each division where simply the top 6 players in the hotshots in each league makes up the team, no tryouts, that way it gives something to play for if you're not gonna finish 1st in your division.

nice idea if a fair way could be dreamt up, if to many players from a certain division r interested could always do a div 1 a and b. and even the players out between to the 2. bad idea?

It may be highly likely that the prem could run away with it, but isn't that the same with every competition? - Its just another opportunity for lower leagued players to play against the best in Cambridge. It would improve the standard of pool across the leagues, and give everyone a great experience.
Maybe handicap it to a certain extent? - My ideas on this were only working ideas, and im sure that it could be improved and be made more fairer through the commitee and other players suggestions.

I think it could be a interesting new comp actually !! I would defo be up for trialling it in some capacity to at least give it a chance. Not sure about having a prem a and prem b then a div 1 a and div 1 b cos surely they would be the 4 semi finalists no disrespect to the other divisions, maybe as you said handicap it some way, potentially you could have two groups of 3 drawn at random with the winners of each group playing each other ?? whats the general prognosis on this ??
