Hi all,
Apologise for the delay in a recap of the most recent county match. Alas, the continued glory of the Cambs County pool season was momentarily overshadowed by a cloud of TOWIE scum (#NoOffence), however Cambs fought bravely to show in fleeting spurts that they were in fact the better team (although in the Men's A and B the scoreline flattered Essex).
Men's A
The Men's A Team lost 30-14 allowing Essex to move level with Cambs in the Region 4 rankings.
As mentioned by Craig in another thread, Craig, Brian, Paul Reed and I all had off days contributing no frames in total.
A bright point was seeing Jordan Lemmon and Jamies Clements win 3 out of 4 continuing their fine form for county. Jamie Clements was man of the match winning every frame in which he had a shot in open play!
Men's B
The Men's B Team also lost, but to a slightly better scoreline of 26 to 18.
Top performers in the B team this month were George Brown and Simon Evans winning 3 out of 4 each. I am assured that Essex were very lucky throughout and a 32-12 win to Cambs would have been a fairer result!
Youth
The youth team managed to field 11 players for the first time this season and as a result gained a 24-20 victory.
Dom Cooney continued his rampant form for the youth winning 4 from 4. Daniel Coggin also contributed a full house of 4 wins. Liam Francis was the next in line winning 3.
The youth team will play their re-arranged game with Suffolk this weekend and with a full squad of players will be a match for anyone in the region.
Next Match: Home to Suffolk (8th July)
For the Men's A and B teams, it is important to bounce back from this and to get something out of the next game. If either team win against Suffolk (hopefully both will) then they will put themselves back in the hunt for the top positions in the league; in the case of the A team, it will help push us clear of Suffolk again.
For the Youth, a couple of wins in the next two matches would bring them to 3 wins from 6 which will make a high finish possible.
Come on Cambs!
