Yo This took place today. Five teams entered in the Interleague this year. They are Mickey Flynn's, St Neots, Peterborough, Ely and CSC. Peterborough played St Neots in the Prelim. St Neots went 9-6 up before Peterborough dragged it back to 9 all and won the first two frames of the three frame play off to win 11-9. Mickey Flynn's despatched Ely comfortably in the first Semi Final. Not sure of the score. Possibly 10-4. We (CSC) played Peterborough in the other Semi Final and got battered 10-3. Didn't do ourselves justice with hangovers fairly evident. A close Final, with Mickey's just ahead throughout before pulling away to record a 10-6 victory. Well done to Mickey's. In the third place play off we beat Ely 10-5. They were very unlucky in two frames, with Tim Redman knocking the black in early and another guy knocking his last yellow in from a snooker and then the white following the yellow into the pocket. Hopefully, third place will give us a spot in Yarmouth. Enjoyed the day. Our team comprised five of our old Plough team, so nice to see some people again. A good drinker's team. I am looking forward to the league matches.

The National Finals took place this weekend. A total of 96 teams took part out of an entry of over 300 teams. Cambridgeshire were represented by Peterborough, Ely, Cambridge Snooker Centre and Mickey Flynn's, who gathered at Vauxhall Holiday Park in Great Yarmouth. The first three lost in the group stages. Mickey Flynn's were represented by Phil Harrison (2009 World Champion), Mickey Lambert (Mickey Flynn's Manager), Richard Jones (9 Ball Professional), Paul Stelmaszuk (England Triallist), Dale Parson (Captain), Will Scott, Michael O'Boyle, Ian Norris, Joff Middleton, Jamie Clements, Kev Batterbee and John Chapman. Mickey Flynn's breezed through the group stage against Ipswich C and Leicester Foxes. They completed Saturday with a comfortable Last 32 win over Yorkshire side Rother Valley. Kev Batterbee played well on Saturday. They started Sunday and the Last 16 with a tough game against Preston A boasting several names from the pool world. At 9-7 ahead, Will Scott slapped in a monster double on the black to seal the win and shock Preston. In the Quarter Finals they met Wolverhampton Wednesday. Richard Jones took out a great clearance to help Mickey's into the Semi Finals. They met the 2009 Winners, Sun Valley from Nottingham in the Semi Finals. They quickly found themselves 6-0 down. A fightback led by Paul Stelmaszuk, with his third break and dish of the day saw them narrowly lose 10-7. Well done to all.

What a weekend!! Fantastic team effort from all our players with everyone playing a part in a solid effort at a National title.
Thank you to the CSC guys and everyone from Ely who supported us in the latter stages, it certainly does help to have a few extras in your corner particularly in the tense moments ;D
