Hi all, The Men's A Team won 24-20 away at Suffolk in the first match of the season. It is a big victory for the A team as Suffolk won the region last year with 8 wins from 10 matches and have lost very few matches on their home patch in recent seasons. Dale Parson put in a man of the match performance to win 4 out of 4; also notably Paul Stelmaszuk, Rich Wharton, Jamie Clements, Michael O'Boyle and Paul Reed all took 3 frames home for the team. The Men's B Team finished 22-22 against a good Suffolk B team which included many of the Fulbourn Institute Z team who are doing well in our own leagues premier division. Cambs B led 13-9 and 18-15 towards the end the 2nd and 3rd sets and managed to hold off a boisterous Suffolk fightback to take a good point. The top two on the day for Cambs were Ron Lemmon and Luke Bennett who both won 3 from 4. I also saw some very nice finishes from George Brown and Shaun Leader who are new additions to the County squad as they both won 2 out of 4 for the team. Next match is Home to Norfolk on March 11th. Come on Cambs!!! Let's build on this and make sure we're at the business end of the table come December!!! p.s. The youth match has been postponed and is due to be played within the next month when Suffolk provide dates to the Cambs team. I didn't hear the result of the ladies match and therefore any Cambs ladies who browse this forum can let us know how they got on!
