Just bumping this as a reminder for everyone, Mens trials are this Sunday currently there are about 25 entries and not that many names from Cambs!! There are quite a few places up for grabs this time so dont miss the opportunity.
Entering on the day is not an option! If you want to trial you need to contact Andy before Sunday.

Looks like a good group of players got through the trials and hopefully we should be able to do some real damage at both county A and B team level.

So I presume we'll be seeing Rich & Ian back in the CAPL next season as they have to play 50% of local league matches................

I believe you need to be affiliated with the E.P.A. in order to compete in certain E.P.A. events; one of the criteria to be eligible for affiliation is to play at least 50% of the matches in an affiliated league in that season.
I believe this was the purpose of the "affiliated league" column on the entry form.
However, I do not have any source to support this... it's just what has been told to me many, many times over the last few years.
When I first registered for an E.P.A. card, I had to wait a while as those in charge of the county had to verify with the C.A.P.L. that I did actually play in their league.

After my showing at the trials, I'm not sure I could find a team that'd take me. I think I potted more than 4 balls in a row twice all day. Shocking.

We affiliate to cambs pool association, who in turn affiliate to the EPA. Therefore if you work along the chain, you must play in a local league first.
The stats that will be submitted from myself to the CPA will be Summer 2011.
Rule taken from 2011 EPA Inter-County rules states: These players must play in 50% of that Affiliated leagues current fixture.
Hope that helps.................

I hope Rich and Ian do play 50 per cent or more in our league but I have been told they must be "available" for this amount not necessarily playing

I hope Rich and Ian do play 50 per cent or more in our league but I have been told they must be "available" for this amount not necessarily playing They have to be signed off by both captains on a scorecard as a non-playing reserve, and be in actual attendance. CAPL Rule 10 under section 12: Non-playing reserves must be present at the venue on the night of the match for which they are listed. They must be clearly noted on the scorecard as a non-playing reserve and the opposition captain must initial next to their name.

Perhaps we should look into adding a box for non-playing reserves onto the scorecard design for next season.
