Uni B beat Cricketers 8-4. Something like our best. I think we deserved to win by that margin. The cricketers weren't playing as well as they can, and we took our chances.

A rather nerve racking 7 5 win for the Mighty Portland A, puts us in a bit of a position for second.
It must be noted that, for the first time, there wasn't an incident of utter, animal agression from their team. Which makes a nice change!

Yeah, no incidents whatsoever, which was nice. We were losing all the way until the last few frames. Arguably, our best win of the season.
Nice one Uni boys as well, 2nd place is nice and tight. Could be last game of the season Portland Vs Uni.

Yeah, we fully deserved to lose last night.... we went 4-0 down and I thought a comeback could be on the cards when we won the next 3 to pull it back to 4-3, but another 4 in a row from the uni gave them the game before I fluked the last frame...
The uni played really well and took all their chance, whereas we were poor and short of confidence... I think that puts the Portland second (1pt ahead of us) and we've got our game in hand against the rock on March 2nd... We're going to have to improve quickly!

its good to be back in second place especially with only 3 games to go Yes, but you have played a game more than everybody else... Looking at your fixtures I'd expect you to win your next two games and then the big game is when you play the uni at the end of the season... We still have both the rock and the rathmore to play and need to be at our best, but we know that it's still in our hands if we win the rest of our games.

Wow - what a contest for 2nd in our league. Cricketers are in the best position, but I think that our game at their place on Sunday 2nd will be different to last season's dismal performance. That would open it right up for Portland, Rathmore or Uni B to take second.
What a performance from our guys last night - 0-3 down - this after losing our last 2 matches. And then 2-4 at the break but .......
6-0 in the second set. A show of determination and confidence from the team with the Weavers 4/4. Ben back to his best just at the right time. Great season from John.
We mugged the Shwartz whirlwind last night (0/2) so with John's 2/2 he is creeping back into contention.
How did yourself and Cieran do Rufus ?

Myself, Cieran and Josh all won 1/2, so it's close at the top, with Cieran still hanging on...
I was VERY lucky with my frame, didn't have a shot on, so I went for a hit and hope and potted the black off his yellow and two cushions! They say they all count...!
Hotshots: Cieran 22 Dave S 20 Rufus C 20 Josh D 19 John W 19
There are some others also up there - ie, C McKenna from Golden Hind who was on 18 before last night...

Id say the portland were now favourites for second having the easiest run in to the close of the season, with the cricketers sportingly going to crown the champions at their place!

So C McKenna is also on 20...
Apologies for not including M Bell in my list, the latest hotshots list had him on 16 and they were meant to be fully up-to-date...
Updated hotshot: Cieran H 22 (4 matches left) M Bell 21 (3 matches left) Dave S 20 (3 matches left) C McKenna 20 (4 matches left) Rufus C 20 (4 matches left) Josh D 19 (4 matches left) John W 19 (4 matches left)
I can't really see it going beyond that list, and N Sneddon from the KSR who was on 17 before yesterday...

So do I, and I probably will do, but as much as I'd love either myself or Cieran to win the hotshots, i couldn't care too much - i just want to make sure that the Cricketers get promoted! And the best way to do that is for myelf, Cieran, Timmy and the others to win as many games as we can...
Anybody know how the Rathmore did last night?

Jenny Wren v Rathmore 6-6. Only had five players, and at 4-0 down could have been a lot worse! We were poor, and they had more than their fair share of luck,so quite happy with a point really.
