Hi, all. I'm hearing rumours that some teams may have dropped out of the 3rd division, and that consequently the top four teams from the 4th are being promoted. Can anyone shed any light on this? Or have I been cruelly misinformed? Cheers

four teams have moved up from division 4, and 2 of these have skipped a division. y? ? There a a couple of reasons. First being there are only 6 divisions this time not the 7 we had in the winter. We had 7 new teams unknown to the committee because we dont know then we dont know their ability so they have been put in Div 5. Those that skipped a division were probably new teams from last season not known to the committee and so originally put into the wrong division for their ability. As Martin said previous the aim is to make all divisions balanced, competative and exciting.

but the portland weren't a new team, this was at least there second season in the pool league, because we have played them two seasons running and they have now gone to division 2 hardly fair. and nothing against brook b but they didnt get relagated y? ? surley there could have still been seven divisions this season???

the committee looked at how a team did in both league and cup. the portland lost only 2 league games last season and made the quarter finals of the cup.
if you do have any problems with the way that the leagues have been sorted out this seaon put it in writing and email it to the overall league secretary chris marchant so that it can be discussed at the next meeting.

waste of time cos he and most of the committee are only interested in two things th prem and division 1. Usually I would bite my tongue right about now but on this occassion I think sod it why should I. You are qualified to make this statement how? You know us all personally? You have sat at a comittee meeting? You have put any work into helping the league? I am sick of people making judgements about us when they do naff all to help. Its simple if you dont like what the committee do then when the chairman at the AGM asks if anyone wants to join the committee get off your arse and volenteer. If you have something construtive to add then talk to us. Somehow I think you are probably like other typical forum rats would rather make snipey non fact based unhelpfull comments while hiding behind a sudaname. These are my own personal views and not those held by any other member of the committee so if you have any problem with them see me.

i'm not the team captain, and the comment about the committee is because at the agm once all the stuff about how the season went ends, everything then turns to div 1 or prem, if u ain't that good no-one is interested, it wasn't personal to the individuals. for a matter of fact cusc b team captain has no problem with chris.

Maybe that is because there are more people there from the Prem and Div 1. The committee don't control what gets talked about at the AGM. It is a meeting where anyone can get things discussed. If you wanted to raise anything with regard to the other divisions you could have.

i think personally that more people from lower divisions would turn up, but it does always seem to revert back to the higher divisions.

So what would you have wanted to talk about??? We're not psychic.
The one issue that was raised with the committee before the agm (trialling the singles format in Div 2), was talked about at length, despite noone from Div 2 being there. As a result a decision couldn't really be made on the night and Chris is having to make the effort to contact each Div2 team to get their view on the matter.

I'D JUST LIKE TO LET EVERYONE KNOW WE WILL BE TRIALLING THE 12 SINGLES FORMAT FOR THE SUMMER SEASON AND LET'S HOPE THEY LIKE IT
