This Tuesday 25th Feb is the Summer 2020 registration evening and AGM meeting.
We have 8 Constitutional amendments which will be brought to the AGM meeting and below are the changes in BOLD.
4.5 The committee will comprise of 4 officers (Chairman, Vice Chairman, League Secretary, and Treasurer), and up to a maximum of 9 other general members who may be assigned roles internally as seen fit (i.e. divisional secretary, minutes secretary, competition secretary, etc...).
4.7 Elections for committee officers will take place every 2 years at the relevant AGM, via the following order of events, and before the elections for general committee members:
The Chairman will retire their position, and the League Secretary will take over proceedings.
Members of the current committee, including the just retired Chairman, will be invited to stand for the post of
Chairman.
A member of the committee must second any member wishing to stand.
Where more than one member is standing, the position will be decided by a majority vote.
The newly elected Chairman will take over proceedings.
The Vice Chairman, League Secretary and Treasurer will retire their positions.
Members of the current committee, including those just retired, will be invited to stand for the post of Vice Chairman, League Secretary and Treasurer in turn.
A member of the committee must second any member wishing to stand.
Where more than one member is standing, the position will be decided by a majority vote.
16.7 A representative of the winning team (or in the event of a draw, the home team) must post the scorecard, as per the instructions on the card, within 5 days of the match by post or What’s App.
18.2 A team may rearrange matches only in the following circumstances. If both teams agree to the rearrangement and a date for the match to be played will be supplied when the teams ask for the rearrangement. This will be within 28 days of the date of the original fixture and at least 7 days before the end of the season. Rearrangement of matches may also be allowed in exceptional circumstances as judged by the committee.
18.3 For rearranged matches due to exceptional circumstances (As Judge by the Committee) the non-offending team must provide 3 potential dates to replay the fixture. These must be sent to the opposition’s captain and the relevant divisional secretary within 7 days of the original fixture date. The dates must also fall within 4 weeks of the original fixture and 7 days before the final fixture of the season.
24.1 The CAPL will run the following competitions each season:

Ladies Singles

26.1 Trophies or Medals will be awarded at presentation night for the following:

Winners and runners up of all competitions.
Divisional hotshots winners.
Hall of Fame and Outstanding Achievement awards.
26.5 The Hall of Fame award will be given at the presentation night following the conclusion of the summer season, when applicable and with the Outstanding Achievement award to be presented after the winter season when applicable.
