Player A misses his final yellow, hanging it in the jaws. Player B steps forward to address the table. He is on the black (a long, dead straight shot to the corner)and one of player A's team mate's shouts out " chalk it up".

Was the player down on the shot?

So it should be treated as a "loss of frame" foul then! Not surprised it wasn't called though, the standard of reffing was rather low!!!

I take it that the player missed the black? Did the player lose the frame too?

If down on shot bit naughty, if not then no real issue.

"Deliberately interfering by word, so as to disrupt an opponents play". I guess it falls into that category, so a bit more than "naughty", as this constitutes a loss of frame foul!

Player b wasn't down on his shot at the time the comment was made , I feel this post is just sour grapes russ ?? There is no way I would let one of my players make a comment while someone was down on a shot . I have been playing far to long for that to happen.

Plus you wasn't happy that your ref in your first game didn't call a foul against one of my players . Resulting in you smashing the ball all over the place when I went to rack up the next frame . Apart from all this great night at the rathmore.

Firstly, this has nothing to do with what happened in my first frame. What I did between frames was purely me venting my frustration at both refs inability to spot an obvious foul! Secondly, I deliberately used the player A and B terms in order for this discussion to remain objective and not get personal. Thirdly, the rules do not state that the player has to be "down on the shot" merely that it is done to interfere with an opponents play. The comment was obviously meant to wind me up, so this is interfering, no?. As for sour grapes, behave. I just didn't appreciate your player's comment.

I also thought it a bit cheeky that your player took a drink after the frame, considering how he won, and I'm guessing he knew as well as I did that he had fouled. Just a shame two refs between them couldn't be bothered doing the job properly!!!!!

I will leave it there russ , but I will say I was timing the frame where your ref didn't call a foul and I didn't see it from where I was standing. Also we played last night and I heard the comments chalk it up , think about it and so on . But nobody said a word or had a problem with it and it was a good night of pool . Good luck for the rest of the season !!

I know you were timing, you were standing right next to the first ref, which is probably why neither of you saw it ( poor positioning). Perhaps nobody had a problem as it was likely good natured, rather than out of spite as a wind up!!! Yourself and Graham both agreed that your player was out of order, and you both apologised to me. Fair enough I thought. Oh how the tune has changed. Nevermind, I'll leave it there, good luck to you too.
