Proposed Constitutional Changes
AGM 3rd March 2016
1. A team that forfeits a match on the final day of the season will be punished with a five point penalty.
Proposer: Dean Stacey Seconder: ?
2. The provision of food is again made compulsory.
Proposer: Dick Giles Seconder: ?
3. Move all competitions to Monday nights. This was discussed at the GM in August and we decided to get feedback from captains. This was received as follows; 40 said “yes”, 30 said “no” and 13 were undecided or didn’t mind.
Proposer – Mark Golden Seconder: ?
4. Increase the entry fee to £40 per team from the Winter 2016/7 season.
Proposer: Committee
5. Provided a transfer is fairly straight forward then the committee will approve the transfer within a week and without waiting until the next available committee meeting.
Proposer: Committee
6. I would like to propose that the league looks at forming some regional leagues at the lower levels. The distances that we have to travel in some leagues is both costly as well as becoming prohibitive for some players who are just not prepared to travel such long distances. It would just make sense to do this and would also create some new divisions that teams will have to travel to.
Proposer: Malcolm Campbell Seconder: ?
The committee looked at how this would have looked for Divisions 7 and 8 in this past season if we made them North and South. We came up with the following;
Bar Hill B, Black Bull B, Fox, Histon B, Hop Bind B, Pavilion, White Horse A Swavesey, White Horse X Swavesey, Monkfield Arms and Three Horseshoes in Division Seven North.
The Bakers Arms, Bottisham, Carlton Arms, Cambridge Uni B, Chesterton MC, Dobblers, Grapes, King St Run C and the Ship A in Division Seven South.
7. Do not allow matches to be played on the nights of the AGM/GM.
Proposer: Committee
AOB –
1. The Euro 2016 finals take place in France this June and July. England play against Wales on Thursday 16th June at 2pm. There is also the possibility of England playing on a Thursday should we progress in the competition as follows;
If England win the group (don't all laugh at once) then we would not have to play on a Thursday at all.
If England finish second in the group then the potential Thursday match is on 7th July at 8pm if we reach the Semi Finals (don't all laugh again).
If England finish third, then there are two potential routes depending on which other groups the third placed teams qualify from. In route one, we would have a possible Quarter Final on Thursday 30th June at 8pm. In route two, we would have a possible Semi Final on Thursday 7th July at 8pm.
We could make 16th June a free week but then what if we progress in the competition and are required to play on a Thursday again. We could then move the GM to Wednesday 24th August and free up another Thursday so that all of those fixtures can be played on Thursday 25th August.
We could make 14th July a free week and give teams the option to play or cancel with that as the back up date.
We could say the match is at 2pm and we should still play as normal.
There may be other suggestions?
We think this is a decision for the members at the AGM.
