Yo
Simon Pollard 4 v Mark Golden 8
Simon broke and dished the first frame. I missed a couple of relatively easy chances in the next two frames and Simon finished well to go 3-0 up. I missed another chance in the next but fortunately for me, Simon missed the black this time and I managed to get on the scoreboard. I then gradually worked my way back into the match by knocking a few in and Simon starting to miss a few. I got to 6-3 up. Simon pulled one back for 6-4. In the eleventh he was on for another break and dish but was unlucky to snooker himself on the black. I got two visits but managed to play a poor positional shot to get on the black. I missed it but it ran fairly safe. We both had a couple of goes at the black with it running safeish before Simon left it over the bag for me and I managed to scrape home. I luckily won the last too.

Martin Early 4 v Mark Golden 8
I dished Martin's dry break in the first. I took out a reasonable finish in the second after a deliberate foul. Martin was still trying to adjust to the pace of the table and I took the third. The fourth was a scrappy affair with us both missing chances before I was left an easy black. Martin got on the scoreboard in the next with a decent finish. We then swapped frames until it got to 6-3. The next frame was pivotal with Martin knocking in the black but also the white to give me the win. Martin won the next before I broke and dished the last. Martin struggled all night with the speed of the table. I was quite pleased with how I played but I also had the run a few times.

Aaron O'Connell 5 Mark Golden 7
Not a high quality match. Aaron said he didn't play well. I could pot but my positional play was even worse than usual. For once I don't think I had the run of the balls. Never more than a frame in it until the end. The only notable event was that in three frames in a row the person breaking went in off and the opponent cleared the table.

Yo
Gavin Jenkins 1 Mark Golden 11
I played quite well but to say i had the run of the balls is an understatement. It seemed like everytime i missed my ball went and tied one of his up.

Bern O'Sullivan 4 Mark Golden 8
Bern started off like a train. Potting balls from everywhere. I missed a couple and also, in my opinion, did not have the run of balls. Bern got 4-0 up. The next frame was crucial with Bern missing a black and letting me onto the scoreboard. I managed to get back into the match at 4 each with the luck starting to turn. The next frame was very tactical. I had both bottom bags covered and thought I was in control. We got down to a situation where I had a corner pocket covered and he had two balls around it with two shots. I didn't think he could get his balls out. However, all three flew out but my ball went into the opposite middle. I knocked the black in for a crucial lead. I won the next. In the eleventh Bern again missed the black. I snookered him but not very well and he should have been able to hit the black and possibly pot it. However, he just clipped my red on the way past and I managed to clear for the win. I nicked the last frame too. A good match against a true gent.

Marcus Garner 8 v Mark Golden 4
I got a proper thrashing tonight. Marcus won the first one. He potted from the break and was in control throughout. I had a chance in the second but made a mess and Marcus again cleared well. I got on the scoreboard in the third. Marcus took the next two. I was waiting for him to make a mistake but he didn't. I managed to nick the next for 4-2 at half time. I was hoping for a comeback but Marcus continued to dominate and won the next four in a row. I sneaked the last two to get a bit of respectability. Marcus was much the better player on the night.

Joey Wong 7 Mark Golden 5
I got myself in a mess in the first frame and the only shot I had was a treble. I managed to knock that in but just overran good position on the black. I was forced to punch it in off his red. I did that but unfortunately the red came off the cushion and flew in the opposite corner pocket. Joey cleared well in the second for 2-0. I started to get a bit defensive. I missed a good chance in the third with two visits and Joey again took his chance. Joey took them out nicely in the fourth. In the fifth I turned down a clearance and left a snooker. Joey played a good shot to knock the black in. 5-0. Joey then won the sixth and it was looking bleak at 6-0 down. I won the next three for a bit of a fightback. I inexplicably followed a yellow into a corner with the white in the tenth for Joey to claim the win. I won the last two for a bit of respectability.

Chris Clayton 5 Mark Golden 7 Not a great quality match. Chris broke first and it went with serve until 3 each. I managed to sneak ahead 6-4. Chris won the next and I won the last to claim the win. Neither of us played well. Once the confidence went we played even more negative. I think Chris probably played better than me overall but threw the odd big error in now and again.

Ben Turner 5 Mark Golden 7
Nip and tuck for the first few frames before I managed to get 5-2 ahead. I then made a couple of mistakes and in my opinion Ben got a bit of run to level at 5 each. I managed to take the last two for the win. I didn't play well. I just couldn't commit to the shots. Ben had a headache and didn't play his best either.

Jake Hills 4 v Mark Golden 8
Jake won the first. I think I then won five in a row with Jake missing two blacks. A good double in the next saw Jake bring it back to 5-2. I won the next for 6-2. Jake won the next and had a good chance in the next to make it 6-4. Unfortunately he missed yet another black and I sneaked it. Jake won the eleventh with a decent clearance. I broke and dished the last. A nice way to finish my season.
