The Catalonia pool festival takes place from 3rd until 10th October in Tarragona just outside Barcelona. I had the pleasure of going last year and will be going again this year. It is a great week of playing pool and enjoying yourself. Whether you are going simply to play pool, to enjoy the beaches and weather or enjoy a few shandies it is great fun. It has a very friendly atmosphere. There are some very good players involved and also a few choppers like myself. There are two Open competitions, a Seniors event, a Ladies event, an U23's event, a three man team event (very similar to Golden Cue), Mixed Doubles and then a Cabbages event at the end of the week for those that have not performed very well. I cannot recommend this festival highly enough. I would urge anyone with a few pounds to spare, that enjoys playing pool to book up and come along. Yo.
Another great festival.
I wasn't successful personally but there were some great performances from CAPL players.
Ashley Scarr won the U23 event.
Kim O'Brien got to the final of the second Open.
Michael O'Boyle and Amanda Rout got to the semi finals of the Mixed Doubles.

I forgot to say that Michael O'Boyle also made the semi finals of the team event. That is a three man competition similar to Golden Cue.
