Marcus Garner 6 Mark Golden 6
I was 6-2 down so I am delighted to escape with a draw. Marcus missed blacks in the 9th and 11th frames for the match so he is not so happy.

Garry Browne 5 v Mark Golden 7
A weird match. It was 3 each at half time and in my opinion I was playing much better than Garry but gifted him 3 frames. The seventh frame must be the longest frame I have played for a long time. Garry eventually got the upper hand but missed the fact that he had a foul snooker. He ended up potting my ball anyway and left me a straightforward black. I think that affected him for the rest of the match and I managed to sneak over the line for the win. Overall I thought I played quite well but made a few silly mistakes which cost me frames. I guess we can all say that though.

Tim Redman 2 v Mark Golden 10
Tim went 1-0 up and missed a black in the second frame. That could have made a big difference. I got a few slices of luck but I also played well. I didn't miss much at all. Tim remarked that the first poor shot I played was in the twelfth frame.

Ben Turner 6 Mark Golden 6
Finally up to date with all of my matches. It was 4-2 to Ben at half time and in my opinion, if I had taken my chances I could have been 5-1 up. The match followed the same pattern in the second half and Ben got to 6-4. In the eleventh frame I again blew my chance and gave Ben two visits. He got to his last red with the two visits still intact but forgot he had them and gifted me the frame. In the last frame he was in a total snooker but forgot to call it and I again cleared up. Probably a fair result as neither of us played well enough to win. I have got three of the slower players out of the way this month. Happy days. However, Reuben's match started before us and was still going when we finished so looks like one more slow player to go.

Chris Patient 5 Mark Golden 7
Not sure how I won this one. I was somehow 4-2 up at half time, living off Chris's scraps and the odd unlucky shot. I missed a couple of toughish frame balls and Chris got back to 5 each. Chris knocked the black in early in the last frame to give me the win. Summed up his afternoon. I think this is the first time I have played Chris. A very good player in my opinion.

Bern O'Sullivan 4 Mark Golden 8
Bern threw a couple away in the first half to give me a 4-2 lead. I knocked in a few half decent balls to go 7-2 up. Bern pulled a couple back and then I nicked the last. Always a pleasure to play Bern. That is one match each for us. Maybe a decider next year.

Match brought forward
Nathan Sanders 7 Mark Golden 5
Nathan was the better player and deserved the win. I was however disappointed as I missed a few chances and I could have nicked a draw. I think the run of the balls went my way. My break worked well and I potted off every break with reasonable splits. I just didn't take advantage. Nathan is very solid and doesn't miss much.

Reuben Morley 3 Mark Golden 9
A fairly tight match to start. Reuben went for it in the first frame and it didn't quite come off. I got a couple of snookers and then managed to clear. The second frame went the same way but I missed the snooker and Reuben knocked the black in. I think we were both playing reasonably well. We won one each of the next two. I should have won the fifth but missed my last red twice. I broke and dished the sixth for 3 each. I should have cleared in the seventh but I missed my chance and it turned into a very long tactical frame. Reuben got the advantage and had two shots with his last colour over the bag and black sitting nice. He knocked the last ball in but the white just kept going and ended up in the middle. I cleared and I think that knocked him back a touch. I wasn't playing bad and got my usual good luck to win the next few frames.

Aaron O'Connell 3 Mark Golden 9
Very pleased with this result. 3 each at half time. I Had a few bits of good luck but the balls were definitely running against Aaron. He played decent shots a number of times but they just didn't break his way.

Dan Wright 7 v Mark Golden 5
Dan agreed that it was not a high quality match. We were both appalling. It was 3 all at half time and then I somehow managed to get to 5-3 up. In the ninth frame I had one red over the corner pocket with the black going into the opposite middle. I managed to follow the red into the pocket with the white. It pretty much summed up how I was playing. Dan won the last four frames to take the win. I believe that takes him above me in the league. Well done to him. For myself it was a disappointing way to finish after playing quite well, for my standard, recently.
