Fulbourn Institute C 5 v 4 The Fox
We played poorly tonight, but fair play to us, we had to win all 3 doubles, being 4-2 down at half time, and we did - just!! Great bunch from The Fox, completely different personnel from the last time we played them a couple of years ago. They were unlucky not to have won really, and that Emma, well, the balls just flew in, all over the table!! Good luck in the league guys.

F.i.s.s.c.(b)5-4 White Horse Wot an evening tonight turned out to be......:-! Out of K.O. Cup....& into "The Plate"!!! Could've asked for an easier draw......after all.....they are the new us!!! A team as we were when we started that is quietly movin on up through the leagues with ease. 1-0 us as spud scrambles win.....Bobby Aldred forgets how.to play....1-1. My son returns to the fold & loses to Mr Stanford, who is top draw may i say...2-1 them. Wayne then comes up against Croucher Pearl Willis....who toyed with him b4 pretendin to go for corner wen actually he was playin offboth jaws aiming for the middle bag under his hand....2-2.....poults sticks with it to make it 3-2....b4 i somehow win for 4-2.......doubles turns the tide for them.....nob &,mash losr 4-3........me & me son lose....4-4.... then in another scrappy one J.B. plays thin cut on black really well only for white to drop in middle bag.................5-4 us.......great night.....pretty poor pool over all.....but great drama!!!!!!!
all..........but greatdrama offboth

Railway Vue 5v4 Fulbourn Institute "C" Loved the fact that Ben the captain, in all innocence, asked if I wanted a timer to be used We played without a timer and got finished in reasonable time, although the last frame was stretched out as it became very tactical, but given its importance as the decider, it deserved not to be rushed. Whoever gets drawn against the Vue had better hope for a home draw, as to put it mildly, their table is a great leveller! Around roughly 50% of the circumference of the table you have to break your cue down as there is not room to cue with a full length one, and there is not so much of a roll, more of a gradient! Seeing shots taken from inside the ladies loo entrance while another player had to hold open the door was at least amusing Add to that, it is a small table, so the pockets are smaller and deeply cut. Having said all that, no excuses, the same table for both teams etc. and I always lose gracefully (lots of experience in losing!!) The Vue are a friendly team and have some good players and tbh we felt sorry for them having to play there every week. Anyway, good luck in the next round boys - if you get all home draws, I fancy you to go a long way!

Emperor (a) 5 - Caldecote (b) 4
About 30 of us crammed into the upstairs room made for a slightly bizarre evening. In the end we fell over the line against a Caldecote team not without some quality in their ranks.
