Registration has now started and will run until Monday 21st October.
This allows us a few days to sort divisions, organise printing and get player packs to CSC before the season starts on 1st November.
Registration for the next season normally runs through September, but with the handicap singles league not finishing until November we've decided to delay the start of the next season by a month. Registration will start at the end of September with the season starting on November 1st.

I'd like to get some feedback from potential players before starting registration for the next season. Answering the following questions, or posting your own opinions would be much appreciated - you won't be shot down, everyone is entitled to their opinion!
1) Have you played in the singles league before? Do you plan to play in the upcoming season?
2) Are you happy that the registration fee is £30, or do you think it should be more like £20? Take into account the registration fee does 2 things; firstly it gets a level of commitment from players to complete the season as you get nothing back if you drop out; secondly, it roughly doubles the prize fund compared to match fees alone.
3) Does the standard of opponent (even when placed in the most appropriate division) put you off from entering?
4) Do you think it's too expensive in general? If yes, bear in mind Q2 and that for ~£5 you play 12 frames of pool per match with a chance of winning some money at the end of it. How much would you expect those 12 frames of pool to cost you in a pub?
5) With the first season of the handicapped league this year do you think you'd be more interested in entering if it was always handicapped?
6) If none of the above changes would make you want to enter, what changes would you suggest?

Yes. Happy with fee. No. Not at all. No. Already intending on entering. Same as Dan. Can't quite see how altering the established set up can suit the majority, but i didn't play in the Handicapped Singles League to see the comparison (gonna give it a go next season though if able).

Also same as Dan. I'm happy with the competition as is. Personally, I liked the possibility of a draw in a league format, so would prefer a return to best of 12, but will enter either way. I notice you keep saying 12 frames of pool in your post, so maybe that change has already been made!

1) Yes and probably. 2) I think the registration fee is fine. 3) No. 4) No. 5) Handicaps don't bother me. There are different divisions to suit different abilities. 6) I understand why you eliminated the possibility of a draw but I would rather it had gone to best of 13 rather than 11.
Lastly when do you plan for the season to end?

Yes No No No No No I play in noshs handicapped league which I enjoy, I might be different to most but I enter to get better and not to win money, I've played some money games against Nosh and Dom and some will say I'm throwing money away but I do it to improve and want them to concerntrate and they have been kind in coaching me at the same time

1) Yes, Maybe. 2) £20. 3) No. 4) Match fees no. 5) Could work as where there is an obvious difference, Phil is already handicapped for example. I don't see why this cannot be expanded where there is an excess of players at a certain ability. 6) Bring back the possibility of a draw.

1 ) Yes and yes
2) Loaded question:
Happy with £30
3) No
4) Loaded question:
It is fine as it is
12 frames would cost me £3 in the Frank Lee
5) Both formats are good
6) Bring back draws

1) Yes/Undecided 2) Happy with £30 3) I'm happy with the standard of opponent 4) I think the pricing is correct 5) I am strongly against handicaps, including those already imposed on the 'top' players
6) The only debate in my mind against joining is that I hear stories of collusion and match fixing going on in the Prem and it puts me off. I can't think of a realistic solution for that one though.

1. - No, Yes. 2. - Happy with fee - intended to register last year but was away for final days of registration. 3. - No - I hope that playing more games with better players will improve my own game. 4. - No. Seems fair. 5. - Being a Noob - can't compare the two formats. 6. - Intend to enter anyway.

1) Yes, but may not enter again
2) £30 is fine
3) No 4) NO 5) Yes
6) When issues arise the decision making on occasions is very poor by the committee, and puts me off re-entering

Sorry, the delay is down to me as I haven't been into Cambridge for around 10 days. I should be able to drop the registration forms off tomorrow (Tuesday) evening.

Is there a PDF version available Darren?

No PDF I'm afraid - not sure it'd be worth it. The registration form gives us a consistent way to collect player names and mobile numbers, but also a receipt for the player to show they've paid. If players aren't worried about a receipt, they still need to go to CSC to pay the £30 Based on general feedback, the league will continue much as it is now. We do intend to reinstate the 12 frames for £5, thus making a draw a possibility. Phil's handicap came about to make the league challenging for him (at his request I believe). It's something we'll discuss and announce before registration ends. It seems that one format isn't going to suit everyone (there was interest in the handicap format from different players), so after this season we can look again at numbers and which is the most popular format. For now, players will be placed in divisions based on ability and compete off levels. Registration forms are now at CSC.

So it's very obvious, first post also updated.
Registration has now started and will run until Monday 21st October.
This allows us a few days to sort divisions, organise printing and get player packs to CSC before the season starts on 1st November.

Hi Darren, i jumped the gun a bit and left mine and Reuben Morley's registration money and some details behind the bar at CSC. Do you still need us to fill out a registration form?
