There may be some wiggle room in moving a given event to a different date in an extreme circumstance however the date can only be moved by a couple of days and is subject to all other competitors being able to accommodate any change.
Edit: The Mixed Pairs is on Wednesday 14th September, I initially wrote down the wrong date.

What a croc yet again the women are treated as 2nd class citizens why? The women over the last few years have done more on a national level than the men yet we a stuck in the corner hidden away how about promoting women's pool in Cambridge for a change? Maybe more women would take part.
That said I cannot make the Thursday sorry.

Maybe more women would take part. That said I cannot make the Thursday sorry. I had worded a whole post disagreeing with you on the basis that the most represented competitions should be put on show, and that ladies get more concessions for CAPL competition entry than the men. However, by the time I finished it I realised that I think I agree with you. In doing things such as relaxing entry requirements the CAPL has only been reactively treating the symptoms of dwindling female pool players. It would be better to inspire other women to pick up a cue by showing them women playing the game. Even better if it can be at an occasion such as presentation night. Of course if they do move the final to presentation night it's up to you and Sue to turn on the style and make it an entertaining battle. I wont lie, I've seem some real 'bore-athons' in the past (not just from the ladies tho).

this is not a serious post juls surely?
the reason it is not being played on presentatiion night is simple - it is to accomodate the one person that is making the very complaint
the reason is simple - because juls as she well knows is not available on the day. the committe have bent over backward AGAIN to accomodate her so that she can fulfil this game to suggest anything other than that is a s childish as anything i have read on this forum. not only that but your opponent AGAIN for this match has moved things round to accomodate you juls!
how dare you suggest that it is not being played is in any way sexist - i will buy you some salt and vinegar for that chip on your shoulder
you MUST openely apologise to the competition secretary for that comment and thank him and your opponent for facilitating you - i cannot stress how utterly horrified i am at what you have posted
Grow up.

Because juls as she well knows is not available on the day. Her ludicrous post does not state that. To suggest any other reason is pathetic, and deserves an apology now! Grow up. You know what Steve you can kiss my Lilly White arse. I didn't even look at the date of presentation night and anyway that's not the point you should know me better than that. If it had been Mel and Rea in the final I would say the same thing. I am really dissapointed in your attitude considering how long you have known me. You will not get an apology from me I am right and you know it you can't tell me if I wasn't in the final you would have had it presentation night. This is why Peterborough produce more Ladies for county than cambridge they know how to promote the ladies game. Your the one that owes an apology not that I expect to get one

OK i will put it this way
the ladies final will now be played on presentation night if thats what you want
can you or can you not play? please tell everyone whether you will be playing or not - then assess your entire standpoint. i have known you a long time and you me. that is why this has angered me so much. to think we did this to spite you really beggars belief
just because YOU havent checked youor availablility WE KNEW that you couldnt make it and we were proactive to sort it out surely you must realise (if not appreciate) that

again an attacking post not answering the point? seriously just say whether you can play or not?
the final has been rearranged to suit you has it not? not fot the first time either
the year you played diane bradford in the final we actually had to rearrnage simon v mick in the mens final to accomodate you - correct?
the year i got in the final against jamie - it had to be rearranged around your availablility - correct?
this is not putting the ladies game behind anything surely you must see that?

My whole point is the ladies game moving forward. If you had asked me first or said to me look Juls we don't have a choice on presentation night date can you play on such an such you could have avoided this. I still think if I wasn't in the final you still wouldn't have it on presentation night and that's my point.

I can't play either night. Your still missing my point. Let's settle this once and for all give Sue the walk over and prove me wrong next season by putting the ladies final on presentation night I wont enter the singles.

the mens singles final has never been played on presentation night without the ladies final also being played on the same night
they are our two premier competitions and that is the way it will always be
good luck in the final - seriously

Don't ever think when I stick up for the Ladies game it's all about me though coz that's the furthest thing from my mind and you should know that by now.

Don't be daft monkey I can't remember yesterday let alone nearly three months ago. It wouldn't have hurt for someone to have spoke to me first and explained. Lack of communication led to this misunderstanding fault on both sides me thinks.

Don't be daft monkey I can't remember yesterday let alone nearly three months ago. It wouldn't have hurt for someone to have spoke to me first and explained. Lack of communication led to this misunderstanding fault on both sides me thinks. Some people have short memories, at the last GM meeting players complained to the state of the table on finals night & that with CofC place at stake for the men’s & ladies final the table should be of the highest quality. It was voted by the members present at that meeting that the men’s & ladies final be moved from presentation night as it could not guarantee the quality of the table & the TKO final be moved to presentation night. Are we now moving the ladies final back to presentation night on probably a sub standard table for a CofC place because someone complained by not remembering the date of finals week, which may I add has been published on the website for some 6 months!

Regarding CofC, in my opinion it doesn't make a blind bit of difference where the singles finals are played or the quality of the table as currently both winner and runner-up qualify for entry into CofC.
I have updated the first post to move the ladies' singles to the Monday. I will be getting in contact with the entrants over the course of this week to ensure this date is appropriate (unfortunately I am currently not in Cambridge and with limited email access).
