Very nice draw for the University teams - makes them odds on to have one of their teams in the final i would say!! Don't be so sure. The Uni B team are near the bottom of div 1 and were going fairly strong in div 3, so i'd say theres not much between us. As for the Grove B, they beat MOM A in the last round remember. And they have a few decent players so don't write them off. look lefty the uni b started badly but we were top of div1 and they went 3-0 up and finished 6-6 and they did similar v runB, there position is false in my mind because they have improved leaps and bounds.

Yeah our B team are usually inexperienced at the start of the season; for most of them, this was their first time playing in the CAPL and it showed! They're all much more experienced now though, and are fresh from a strong showing at the British Universities championships where they made it to the quarter-finals (out of 32 teams), so they'll be full of confidence. I'm sure it'll be a close match, but don't underestimate them Lefty

lefty underestimates most people. it should be a cracking match. the idas gonna be packed out as people want to see us play well and we are looking forward to playing a team highier than us as it gives us the experience playing against better class opposition. ignore lefty as he cant play for us in the cup and often gets a little ahead of himself and is always full of confidence (not having a pop lefty just saying your often to optimistic)
i know a bit about histon b then are a very well organised team. simon wisbey and bill scott are 2 players to watch out for both very experienced and know there way round. should be another great game to watch.

ive never got this far in the cup before and have really enjoyed our cup run so if we win great but if we lose then its great to get the experience and can learn at the same time

The sun seems to be shining on us Uni lads at the moment - Uni A have to be in with a fair chance of reaching the final (taking nothing for granted) without meeting a premier league team!

But my point is too many ppl are underestimateing us just because were in a lower league. Yes i am full of confidence, but we have a gd side. A little bit more confidence in our team would go a long way. This is only the Ida's third season, and were already in div 3. We have had to work our way up from the bottom, so just because were in a low league it don't mean we can't beat gd teams. We have already knocked out 2 teams above us in the league structure, so why not a third?. We do have a gd team Paul, and i believe its of a better standard than our current league. Either way i'm sure the game with the Uni B guys will be a gd one. I don't mean to cause any offence to ppl, but it really does annoy me when teams play down your chances of winning just because your in a lower league.

I think it'll be a great match whichever way it goes, and we're not expecting an easy ride.
Looking forward to it.

i think alot of people do underestimate lower teams but there is alot of quality and u cant b sure of a result til u win. the workies started in 4 or 5 and wit 3 straight promotions were in the prem so the hope is there, think branch did the same. good luck to u ida and uni a, i mite even come down and watch aswell as we went out to the run a 2nd round!!

I think your making this in to something it's not.
No one on here is saying that cos u play in a lower league that you are bad players... where did u get that from?? I've just read back through the whole thread.

yea we r top of 1st at mo, but i was captain at 16 in div 4, so just trying to make that point, whats made me better is playin better players as we climbed. every division is strong and every player can beat anyone in a one frame shootout! ida a have a chance but gotta make sure u take it cos the higher u go the less chances u get to win!
