I don't think it does - if you get through you may need to pay another £12 or so registration fee. Probably best to find out from someone who knows though, rather than my sketchy memory!

As I said its towards their EPA reg. I should have said that it doesn't cover the full cost tho................The £8 is standard fee for superleague only

I was shocked and very surprised to be banned from trialing for county. Obviously the captain has the right to pick his best team but to ban someone who couldnt make the dates because of some serious work commitments the year before to even trial. I have withdrawn from the herts tour which made it more difficult for me to attend last year aswell. So excuse me when I say come on the hertfordshire

I agree that you've been wronged, but flaming people on here (who have nothing to do with what has happened) isn't the way to go about this.

so no one got opinion or have all monday 2 friday 9 - 5 employed people judged me and the situation already, personally i think being banned from county is a disgrace and andy mear should get a life. I personally believe you're reliable, dedicated, and able enough to play @ county level m8, not that my opinion holds any weight. That said, I always found Andy to be a fair person when running county pool. I don't know all the sides of the argument to make any more of a meaningful comment on the situation.

The county has made a decision to bar anyone (i believe for one year) who qualifies but does not turn up to matches. It was felt that not turning up after qualifying is depriving someone else of a place. I believe it has happened repeatedly and they are trying to find a way of stopping it. It is nothing personal against you Lawrence. I believe the rule has been applied acroos the board. I also do not know anymore than that. That said, rumour has it that you, Phil and Rich are playing for Herts this year?

I hear there were quite a few who didn't show up much. It is a shame to take away that chance. maybe a chat with Andy explaining your situation may change his mind. i think that the ban should be given on a case by case basis. Phil and Richard can't play for Herts. they will have to live there.

Phil and Richard can't play for Herts. they will have to live there. Or play in a league there! (or have they now blocked that loop hole?)

The local league rule still applies for men. However, it is not a rule for the ladies.

I'm sure I heard somewhere that county eligibility restrictions on players are mostly self imposed by the county themselves, and that the EPA basically allows anyone to play for anywhere regardless of where they live, work, or were born.

Thanks guys for your comments especially craig, as it happens some of my comments to andy mear have been jumped on and i have been told being banned from the capl is next from ron nesbitt. I tend to jump before being pushed, we shall see. Lets be straight I told andy mear about my work situation in an email during the season and has chose to be unsympathetic and draconian.

Hi Lawrence,
Unfortunately, i am unable to accept your request for a place in the trials for the 2010 season. At the AGM on Monday 4th January it was agreed that any player who gained a place through the trials last year or was retained from the 2008 season and failed to show a level of committment to the team would not be able to attend trials this year.
At the players meeting last year we talked at length about committment and the fact that players are in the squad on merit. those players who cae through the trials and then decide its not for them effectively took a position away from someone else and this has to stop.
The decision has been made for the good of the County and its future.
Andy Mear
