£25 to enter AND £10 to enter the plate if you lose?

Yes. The Plate is optional. There may be some added funds dependant on numbers?

You'd think someone copying these lists would have the decency to change my name back

Sorry Craig. That was a genuine error lol.
For those thinking its a tad rich to enter. How about running a game of Killer after your league Matches? You could end up with most of the team entering after a few weeks and having a crack.

Good idea Could think of better causes to give it to rather than lining the "elites" pockets though

I won the Herts amateur years ago. I was priced at 50-1.
Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure.

I -do- think it's a bit pricey. If I wanted my money to go to Micheal I'd rather just buy him a drink! How are you estimating the prize fund? Do you have a deadline of entries before the comp to assure the prize fund? What are the benefits of paying £5 more for this than entering the pool Cambridge Pool Series? Why do we not have free entry into the plate for first round losers? I'd appreciate you posting your definition of Amateur before I commit to playing What percentage of the prize find goes to the winner? What round do you estimate the prize money will become available? One thing though, nice to see a competition you might actually turn up to

One thing though, nice to see a competition you might actually turn up to Lots of people have different ideas how they think a competition should be run. Yes it would be great to know the exact format and prize structure, but in terms of entry fee and value for money I think it's simply a case of if you don't like it don't enter tbh. Then again I'm a believer that most comps should be 'open' competitions where the entry fee and bigger steaks aid in naturally determining the level of entrant.
